Anita Mixon is a General Aviation Pilot (single-engine land, with complex, high performance, tail wheel and aerobatics endorsements and 450 hours in the air). She was introduced to air racing in the 1990s and participated in the Great Southern Air Race several times.
Anita is an Information Systems Control and Compliance Auditor at SBA Corporate Communications in Boca Raton. She also works part time as a flight school's office coordinator and volunteers for Pilots N Paws, flying her airplane, Pirate Air. A longtime historical reenactor, she owns her own field cannon and received Black Powder Certification from the State of Florida. Anita also enjoys firing her Glock 43 pistol and hopes to enter competitions when she becomes more proficient.
She is a Founding Member of the Treasure Coast Chapter of the 99s and a member at-large of Women in Aviation International. Anita also volunteers in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Air (USCGA District 7 Aviation.)
